Ziad bin Bassam Al-Bassam is the vice chairman of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
On Wednesday, Al-Bassam inaugurated the first edition of an Indonesian products exhibition titled “Made in Indonesia Expo,” alongside Indonesian Consul-General Dr. Mohamad Hery Saripudin at the Jeddah Center for Forums and Events.
The four-day exhibition introduced more than 70 Indonesian exhibitors with the goal of increasing non-oil and gas exports to Saudi Arabia.
The exhibition also aims to shed light on numerous Indonesian products and is expected to attract more Saudis to invest in Indonesia.
Born in 1965, Al-Bassam holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah.
Al-Bassam is the CEO of Al-Bassam Group, the chairman of the board of directors of Dar Al-Balagh Media Co. and Information Windows Technology Co. He has also been a board member of Makkah Construction and Development Co. since 2011 and Saudi Makeen Co. He has also served as the chairman of the board of directors of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Center of Jeddah and the Committee of Economic Development of the Council of Makkah Province.
Al-Bassam was also a member of the Council of Makkah Province, a board member of Jabal Omar Development Co. and the Committee of Urban Development of the Council of Makkah Province.
He was also a member of the Investment Council of Al-Baha, a member of the General Council for Technical and Vocational Training and the board of directors of the International Islamic Relief Organization.
He served as a member of the advisory committee in the faculty of Economics and Administration at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah. He was the branch head of the Entrepreneurship Association in Makkah region.
